Donation Policy and Donor Privacy

The Maarif Foundation is devoted to protecting our donors’ privacy. We created this donation policy to assure our donors that their personal information will not be shared with any third party.

Awareness

The Maarif Foundation publishes this Donor Privacy Policy to inform you of our privacy policies and how your information is utilized. We also give you the option to delete your name from our email list if you so wish.

Information obtained

We gather and keep the following categories of donor information:

  • Name, business name, complete address, phone number, and email address are all required for contact.
  • Payment information includes the amount of the donation, the type of credit card used, the cheque number, and the billing address. We do not store credit card information on file; once a donation is processed through our donor database, our website, or PayPal, we no longer have access to your credit card information.
  • Information on how you made your donation: direct mail, online, monthly giving club, volunteer event, speaking engagement, and so forth.

Information about how you learned about The Maarif Foundation

Questions, comments, and recommendations are all welcome. And your desire to get frequent updates: For example, we will send occasional mailings relevant to certain fund-raising drives, areas of interest, and newsletters to persons who want it.

How information Is employed

The Maarif Foundation uses your information to better understand your requirements and serve you. We use your information to help you make a transaction, contact with you, and keep you up to date. Credit card numbers are solely used for donation or payment processing and are not kept for any other reason. We use the feedback you provide to provide you with the information you’ve requested, and we take each suggestion for how we might enhance communication carefully.

What happens to my donation, and how does it help the fight against hunger?

The Maarif Foundation uses the funds raised via fundraisers to provide nourishment for children. We will go to any length to make a positive difference in the lives of children. Your donation will be used to assist persons in the UK who are food insecure. Donations made to The Maarif Foundations are considered undesignated money, which means that contributions will be used to meet the needs of The Maarif Foundation. If the donor specifies that the gift is meant for a specific program, we will direct the contribution to that program.

The funds and donations you raise will allow us to continue our life-changing work. It makes no difference how much you raise, whether it’s a £10 donation or a £100 donation; every penny helps us aid children.

Removing your name from our mailing or email list

It is our desire not to send unwanted mail or e-mails to our donors. Please contact us via phone, e-mail, or mail if you wish to be removed from our mailing or e-mail list. Upon receipt and processing of your “opt out” request, The Maarif Foundation will make corrections within your donor file so you will no longer receive the communications you specifically requested.

Gift aid it

If you are a UK taxpayer we can increase your donation by 25%, this will add £25.00 for every £100.00 of  your donation without you paying a further penny! .

 

The Ma’arif Foundation UK kindly requests that all donors, who are UK taxpayers, consider treating their previous donations, this donation, and any future donations as Gift Aid donations unless notified otherwise. It is important to understand that if the donor pays less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the total amount of Gift Aid claimed on all their donations within a tax year, they are responsible for paying the difference.

 

We kindly ask our donors to inform The Ma’arif Foundation UK in case of any changes to their declaration, such as cancellation of the declaration, updates to their name or address, or if they no longer pay sufficient tax. By doing so, we can ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with tax regulations.

 

The Gift Aid amount claimed from these donations will be utilized to support our fundraising and administrative costs, as well as contribute to our Where Most Needed fund. This fund plays a vital role in our efforts to save and transform more lives. We deeply appreciate the generosity and support of our donors, as it enables us to make a greater impact in our mission.
